Diana Bozza
The subjects of my watercolors represent the activities that I enjoy. Being an avid gardener and an outdoor enthusiast, I look for subject inspiration in nature. My style of painting is representational. Even though I paint what I see in the natural world, I am beginning to experiment with color and how dramatic a painting becomes when one changes the expected color of a few elements.
To add to the drama of a painting, I always invite in the light. The light can be coaxed where you want the viewer's eye to go...down a winding path in the country, illuminating a side of a cut tulip, creating interesting shadows cast by a whisk placed in a bowl, The autumnal light changed a dirty gray abandoned power plant into a dramatic colorful structure under a stormy blue sky.
