Marshall Carolus
Recently, I've been experimenting with watercolor. Playing with the way that the paint blends on the paper, the way that ideas and designs emerge and develop, the way that watercolor plays with other media, and the way that ideas evolve over time. And so, a series develops and changes. Initially, these were pure abstract (partly inspired by the way that Sam Gilliam applied paint). Then colors and techniques began to repeat themselves. The geometry and line work started to become more prominent. Then new ideas started to emerge and demand attention. Now, I've got new ideas to play with and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
