Linda Maldonado
I started out painting realistic watercolors, but after a few years I found myself attracted to abstract works. I started exploring how to use paint, paper, stamps and stencils to create windows into mystery and spirit. Working with collage papers and acrylic mediums lets me establish layers of color, texture and image in an intuitive rather than planned process. Some paintings emerge quickly as a completed piece, others hibernate and marinate through time and paint until they evolve to a finish. I never know when I start out what they will look like.
