Jeanne McIntyre

Jeanne feels that art is in her genetic makeup. Although she has worked in several media, she gravitated toward watercolor over time. She adamantly states, “I do watercolors. But, I don’t create soft, pale images.”
Jeanne continues that she does not aspire to paint cut crystal or detail the fuzz on a peach. She prefers the immediacy of watercolor for its strength and vibrancy.

Despite watercolors reputation for delicacy, Jeanne attests that its exponentially varied nature and its predilection for surprise, ignites a strong passion in her to explore watercolors strong hues boldly while simultaneously using its translucence powerfully.

Jeanne views every new watercolor as an opportunity to discover what can be done with the medium’s contribution to communicate her vision of a subject’s essence.
