Featured Artist of the Month

Anne was drawn to watercolor at an early age and started painting classes at age 8. After losing a job in the late 1990’s, she started taking painting classes at the Art League and regularly got into their monthly shows.

She was interested in landscapes but painted other subjects while attending many travel workshops abroad: Paris(twice), Barcelona, Extremadura Spain, Provence, Mexico, Prague, Budapest, and the Bahamas.

She’s been a juried member of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists since 2018 and is an active member. She had her first solo show at Green Spring Garden Historical House from November 2023 through Jan 2024. The show subject was Huntley Meadows nature habitat. She’s also a member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Portraiture intrigued her so she began classes in 2023 with Deborah Conn.

She is retired from the Fairfax County Public Library after 19 years. She continually volunteers at several branches of FCPL, teaching aspects of watercolor a couple times a month to non-artists.
